It’s Jermell Charlo vs. Brian Castaño 2 fight week in Carson, Ca. The World Boxing Council is celebrating this exciting rematch by visiting Boxing gyms throughout California to inspire the youth all while giving the boxers and their families the opportunity to win fight tickets to this mega event! Oak Hills Boxing Gym is a gym in Hesperia, CA about an hour and a half from Los Angeles, CA. Being a little further away, these kids don’t get the opportunity to have visits like the one they received yesterday by WBC and guests. It was exciting and motivating for them to see the Green and Gold WBC Championship belt in their gym.
Guest speakers included rising prospect Danny Luna out of Victorville, CA, well known cutman, Sergio Estrada, Christina Oliva of Campeones Legales, Richie Garcia, local business owner, Anthony Saldaña, lead writer for Supreme Boxing and Nancy Rodriguez of WBC. Each speaker told their story on how Boxing changed their lives on a positive level and how they too can follow their dreams. It was great to see the youth so involved and asking questions not only about Boxing but career paths and how the speakers dealt with their challenges in life.
Many gifts and tickets to the upcoming Jermell Charlo vs. Brian Castaño were given away to the youth at Oak Hills. They are excited to experience a World Championship Fight Night with their team. It’s great to see WBC Cares bringing smiles to the gyms in Southern California once again after the pandemic.
Charlo vs. Castaño 2 WBC World Championship Fight will be held at Dignity Health Sports in Carson, Ca this Saturday, May 14th, 2022. Tickets are still available at AXS.com. Fight will also be televised on Showtime Boxing.
