Troy Jones came through his first six round contest with flying colours on Friday as he defeated Slovakia’s Pavol Garaj.
The Tamworth based super middleweight topped the bill at BCB Promotions’ ‘Friday Fight Night’ at the Eastside Room, Birmingham, on Friday evening.
Jones outpointed his Slovak opponent 58-56.
Andrew Robinson warmed up for his trilogy fight with Poland’s Damian Jonak with a four round battle against Lithuania’s Genadij Krajevskij.
After beating and then drawing with Jonak, D’Animal is set for a third fight in April. Robinson cruised to a 40-36 win.
Hereford’s Cliff Henry showed life begins at 40 and he made his pro bow. He enjoyed the perfect start as he put Ben Thomas on the seat of his pants in the opening stanza before controlling the rest of the fight to run out 40-35 victor.
Troy’s cousin, Brandon Jones, put Elvis Dube to the sword with a controlled and aggressive performance to claim a shut out 40-36 win as did Hereford’s Liam O’Hare who enjoyed a similar scorecard against Josh Hodgins.
Walsall’s Shaun Cooper enjoyed a keep busy 40-36 win over teak tough road warrior, Des Newton.
Birmingham’s Kane Baker took on Spain’s Diego Valtierra over six rounds as chief support.
It was a contest that ebbed and flowed for the entire 18 minutes and was scored 57-57.
