New York prospects Andy Dominguez and Christina Cruz will return to action in separate bouts on August 10 when Boxing Insider Promotions hosts their next show at Sony Hall in New York City.

Dominguez (9-0, 6 KOs) will face the fellow unbeaten Mohammed Aryeetey (7-0-1, 5 KOs) of Accra, Ghana in a six round flyweight bout while Cruz (4-0) will face Nancy Franco (19-17-2, 5 KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico in an eight round flyweight bout.

Dominguez, 25, was born in Mexico before moving to the South Bronx at age ten. The three time New York Golden Gloves champ has fought his last two bouts on Boxing Insider cards, including a hard-fought unanimous decision over Marvin Solano last December. Dominguez now lives and trains in Las Vegas under Ismael Salas and is rated no. 7 by the WBA at 112 pounds.

The 20-year-old Aryeetey hasn’t fought in nearly a year since suffering the only blemish on his record, a split draw against Filipino journeyman Jeronil Borres in his U.S. debut last August. All of his bouts prior to that came in Ghana.

Cruz, who holds the record for most New York Golden Gloves titles at ten, will be fighting just a few blocks from where she grew up in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. Cruz turned pro in 2021 and last fought in January, winning a hard-fought decision over Amy Salinas in Kissimmee, Fla. Franco has fought a whose who of women’s boxing champions like Ava Knight, Seniesa Estrada and Yesica Bopp but hasn’t been in the ring since losing a unanimous decision to Tania Enriquez in May of 2022.

Also slated for action are Long Island’s Famous Wilson (2-0, 1 KO) against former N.J. amateur standout and current Columbia University student Kevin Hernandez (1-0-1, 1 KO) in a four round middleweight bout.

“My goal from day one has been simple – to put on the best fights with local and international talent and to present them to the largest possible audience,” said Boxing Insider promoter Larry Goldberg.
